What is Singapore Math? The Singapore Primary Mathematics series is the highly successful national math program taught in all schools in the country of Singapore for over 20 years.  Singapore students who were taught by the Primary Mathematics series scored first place in the 1995, 1999, and 2003 Trends in International Mathematics and Science Study (TIMSS). The TIMSS is designed to measure trends in students’ mathematic and science achievement in four-year cycles.

The Primary Mathematics series began in 1981 in Singapore and has undergone several modifications to update and strengthen its goals. With permission from the Singapore Minister of Education, the Primary Mathematics series was introduced in the United States in the year 2000.  Since then, U. S. editions of the Singapore Primary Math series have been developed and used by teachers and students throughout the nation.

Why has the Hall County School system decided to support this program?
